What is Henna?

Henna is made from the leaves of the Lawsonia plant. It is a natural conditioner, able to dye your hair without damaging, drying, or chemically altering its structure. It is the ideal colorant. Our henna is 100% natural and free from synthetic chemicals, making it safe to use while pregnant or breast feeding. Unlike other Henna Hair Dyes, ours has no PPD, Metallic Salts, or Ammonia. Chemically-based dyes often cause split ends and lifeless hair; henna does not. Rather than chemically changing the hair structure and weakening it, henna binds with the keratin, preventing brittleness.

The henna plant, by itself, is naturally red. To achieve different shades of dye, we include a second plant, Indigo (Indigofera Tinctoria), for browns and blacks. For our blonde and neutral Henna Hair Dyes, we use another plant, Cassia, (Cassia Obovata), which by itself is colorless.
